“Christina, should I just restart my Facebook Group?!”
No!
If I can count the number of times someone has said that (when they didn’t need to…) There’ll be no more Facebook Groups left!
The good news is: there are a few things you can do today (5 min max each!) that can start breathing life into your Facebook Group again.
And no… none of them are “post more” (which you should if you’ve not been doing this constantly!)
Here are 10 micro opportunities you can take that make people feel seen, invited, and excited to be there…
- Tag new members by name in your welcome post. It makes the room feel warmer right away.
- In fact, if you don’t already have a welcome post OR if it’s been awhile since you created one, you know what to do next!
- Ask one specific, fun question each week (Questions like… Do you work on the weekends? It gives you insight on the type of people you have in your group while being a fun and easy question!)
- Pin a fresh post so the group doesn’t feel abandoned. (Especially if your pinned post has been up since 2024!)
- Shout out your members… individually! (Energy spreads fast when people feel valued.)
- Reply with a GIF or emoji sometimes instead of text, it adds personality and joy.
- Post a poll (FB’s secret engagement hack… people love clicking buttons).
- Send replays to your email list to drive traffic. One of my favorite ideas for group growth! People value exclusivity.
- Drop a personal story that makes people say, “me too.”
- IMPORTANT: Always End your posts with a clear invitation (Have a CTA or a question that invites people to respond!)
- For example, if your post is about a nutritional recipe for gut health… Invite people to respond what other recipes they like.
- DO NOT ask them to “comment their thoughts below” as they don’t have a specific direction. Invite them to answer specific questions.
None of these take hours.
They’re the micro-moments that stack up into a group that feels alive, not dead.
