The Most Expensive Thing In Your Business Isn’t What You Think

If I asked you to name the most expensive thing in your business, what would you say?

Your coach?

Your software stack?

That course you bought and never finished?

(No judgment! We’ve all got one :p)

It’s none of those.

The most expensive thing in your business is a decision you haven’t made yet.

Let me explain what I mean…

Right now, somewhere in your business, there’s a decision you’ve been circling.

Maybe it’s whether to retire an offer that’s felt heavy for months.

Maybe it’s whether to raise your prices, change your niche, or finally commit to the program idea that keeps tapping you on the shoulder.

And every day that decision stays open, it’s charging you rent…

Here’s how the rent gets paid:

It’s paid in mental bandwidth

An open decision is a browser tab your brain never closes.

It hums in the background of every work session, quietly draining the focus you needed for the things you actually committed to.

It’s paid in half-hearted action

Because when you haven’t fully decided, you can’t fully commit.

You promote the offer you’re secretly planning to kill. You “kind of” show up for the direction you’re “kind of” pursuing.

And half-committed action produces half-hearted results… which you then use as evidence that you were right to hesitate.

See the loop?

Indecision creates weak action.

Weak action creates weak results.

Weak results justify more indecision.

And here’s the part I really want you to hear:

You are always paying for the decision.

The only question is whether you’re paying for the answer… or for the avoidance.

Now, I know what the hesitation is protecting you from.

If you don’t decide, you can’t be wrong.

As long as the decision stays open, all the options stay alive, and so does the fantasy version of each one, the version where it works perfectly.

Deciding means killing the fantasies and dealing with reality.

That’s why smart, capable people stay stuck for months on decisions that should take a week.

Not because they lack information.

Because they’re avoiding grief. The small grief of closing doors.

So how do you get faster? 3 things I come back to:

#1: Separate “I don’t know” from “I don’t want to say it out loud.”

In my experience, most of the time you DO know.

You knew months ago.

The knowing showed up as a feeling in your body every time you worked on that offer, opened that program, or looked at your prices.

You’re not gathering information anymore. You’re gathering courage.

Those are different projects. Be honest about which one you’re on.

#2: Ask “what would this decision cost me in a year?”

The delay.

If you keep this offer, this price, this direction for twelve more months, what does that cost you in money, energy, and momentum?

Put a number on it if you can.

Indecision feels free because the invoice never arrives all at once.

It arrives in installments.

Write out the total.

#3: Make the decision smaller.

Sometimes the decision feels impossible because you’ve made it permanent in your head.

“Should I change my niche FOREVER?”

No wonder you’re frozen.

Try: “What am I choosing for the next 90 days?”

Ninety days of full commitment will teach you more than nine months of hedging ever could.

Because here’s the thing about wealthy, effective people that took me years to see:

They’re not better at making perfect decisions.

They’re better at making decisions, period.

And then making the decision right through their commitment to it.

The quality of the choice matters less than the quality of the follow-through.

So today, I want you to name it.

What’s the decision you’ve been circling?

Write it down. Look at it.

And then ask yourself: do I actually need more time…

Or do I just need to say out loud what I already know?

You’ll realize the answer is closer than you think!
