The 3 Biggest Myths Keeping Your Biz Stuck in January

Year after year, the whole world creates their resolutions in January.

It’s the month when gyms meet at least 10–15% of their new membership sign-up goal for the year.

It’s the month that people are trying new things: new recipes, new hobbies, new clothes.

Heck, even the term “Dry January” is famously coined so that people can lay off their drinking for the year!

January is exciting because it symbolizes new beginnings and fresh starts.

In fact, it’s your job as the CEO of your business to BE excited.

Because while you’re setting up goals to hit your business for the year, your clients are too.

They’re searching for the key to set up their 2025 as well.

It’s up to you to generate lasting enthusiasm for the year and cultivate it by saying “yes” to what is aligned and “no” to what’s not.

And while business is tough, it becomes downright impossible without excitement around your vision and building a plan backwards from the vision you’ve created.

That’s why today, I wanted to bring you the 3 myths that’s blocking your biz growth in January.

Myth #1: January is the “most important month” for your business.

Reality: Nope. January is the launchpad for your business.

It’s the systems you build and the decisions you make this month that pay off for the rest of the year.

Think about it: If you give 200% this month and don’t see the results you were hoping for…

Once the “new year, new me” hype fades, you’ll find yourself in March wondering:

“Where the heck has the time gone?!”

What actually matters is creating processes that work behind the scenes so you can focus on moving forward.

Myth #2: Motivation vs Momentum.

Reality: January 1 is the day that everyone gets a surge of energy.

You want to accomplish *everything*.

You declutter your desks, you tell yourself this is your year yada yada.

But motivation is fleeting.

People tend to wait for the new year for a brand new fresh start.

But instead of waiting for a “perfect moment”, build your small wins that create momentum.

Each small win leading to the next.

THAT’S how you keep your ball rolling… even on the days that Netflix is calling your name louder than your to do list.

Because momentum doesn’t demand perfection. It rewards consistency.

Myth #3: You’ve got to have it figured out by January.

Reality: Growth isn’t a January-exclusive event.

It’s a journey, not a deadline.

Yes, it’s good to be clear on your goals set for the year.

But not when you’re scrambling just to tick off the checkbox saying “YES! I created my resolutions.”

Give yourself permission to continue to be curious throughout the year.

Every month, ask yourself:

“What am I proud of for myself this month?”
“Where do I get to go next month?”

Adapt as you grow.

This month, I’m going to be sending you more on how to ditch the myths so you can continue to build your biz smarter for 2025.

So come February, you’ll feel like you’ve made real progress for the year, instead of spinning your wheels trying to do it all.

Let’s make 2025 your best year yet.
