We were rushing to get the house packed up to catch our flight at the airport.
Lights off. Check.
Kids stuff picked up and packed up (does this ever end?). Check.
Food in the fridge cleared out and given to the neighbours. Check.
…you get the idea.
We were leaving Palms Springs on New Years day to come home to blistery snowy Vancouver.
We arranged a cab to pick us up and as we were rushing about he arrived and we all piled in.
I had already checked our flight status but something in me suggested I check again while driving through town.
*gulp*
It’s delayed by 4 hours.
I suggested we turn back.
My husband looked at me for a second before he realized it was the smart thing to do.
Then I had this twinge of guilt. I felt bad for the cabbie who had come to get us. But it was the best thing to do. To go back and let the kids play and we could relax.
So we offered the cab driver money with a giant tip well over the meter reading. He said, “no!”
I couldn’t believe it. He was turning money away.
What about you?
Are you turning money away and not even realizing it…
Not making that invitation to someone who is a perfect fit to work with you…
Not asking for asking for the price you want to charge based on an assumption that someone can’t afford it…
Over giving of your time because you don’t feel worthy of your fees…
Or maybe just staying safe and not putting out that offer or program because you’re afraid it won’t sell out or sell at all?
Isn’t it time to change that?
To take what is rightfully yours.
And shed those pesky negative beliefs and guilt about money.
