Recently, I had a call with someone who was great at what they did.
I had a MAJOR “aha” with them on the call.
I wasn’t expecting it, but I was grateful.
I knew at that moment, whatever the coach pitches, I’ll sign up for their program.
But then…
They continued talking.
They added more tips.
More context.
More teaching.
And suddenly it felt like information overload…
By the end, momentum had disappeared, and I knew the teaching style didn’t resonate with me.
And when the pitch came, I bowed out in gratitude.
The truth is: A lot of coaches do that.
They let a call go on too long that it allows for more confusion to happen.
When you’re on a clarity call, your job isn’t just about stacking value…
That means:
- Naming the shift they just experienced
- Reflecting it back to them
- And opening the door to the next step before the feeling fades
This is the part most people freeze on.
They worry, “If I transition now, will I sound salesy?”
So they keep teaching to feel safe.
And unintentionally, they dilute the very breakthrough they helped create.
The thing is: Momentum isn’t built by more information.
It’s built by movement.
One clean next step.
One simple decision.
One gentle invitation to continue.
If you’ve ever had calls where people say, “This was amazing!” and then disappear…
It’s because you didn’t guide the moment home.
Just something to think about the next time you’re tempted to add “just one more tip.”
